Marijuana Seizures on the Rise

2009 was a banner year again for marijuana crop seizures.  The Campaign Against Marijuana Planting seized 4.4 million plants in 2009, up from 2.9 million plants in 2008, according to state Department of Justice figures released today, which is almost a 50% increase.

The rise in seizures is attributed to better erradication strategies and locating larger pot gardens.   Increased helicopter use enables the location of the larger gardens so they can be erradicated.
